Southern California native Scott Uchida has experienced more in two phases of his professional career than most do in their entire lives, and he’s just embarked on a third.

Uchida, a life-long music fan, has worked professionally in the music business marketing some very famous musicians.  Along the way, he’s crafted relationships far and wide in a business that is known for few of any substance.

It is this commitment to artists that drives Scott Uchida to reach new highs as a photographer daily.

Of course, driving is something else Uchida knows from an insiders perspective, as his time spent in open-wheel racing has also prepared  him for life in the photography fast-lane!

“It’s a convergence that just makes sense” says Uchida about blending his passion for photography with his professional careers, “I felt it was time to take my hobby to a new level.”

Uchida’s newest phase in his professional life was born from these two distinct and separate areas only few can do professionally, and they now converge almost daily in front of the lens.  “Seeing these musicians perform and the teams win races from an insiders vantage point has proved to be a greater motivating force than anything I have experienced” says Uchida, adding “you have to over-deliver for these people- because they expect it.”

Whether it be a raucous good time on, or backstage seen through his lens.  Or capturing the speed of a state-of-the-art race car with driver intently focused behind the wheel, there is one thing that unites them all:  Scott Uchida’s passion for photography.

The images in the galleries on this site tell more than the story of their subjects, they define the person behind the lens as well.
